RCBS universal decaping die

If any of you have had a problem using the RCBS universal decaping tool, because of it breaking the pins ( it uses a headed pin ) I found that the small spring that is on the pin, holds the pin ridged and if the primer hole is slightly off center the pin will bind and break. Removing the spring allows the pin to float slightly, allowing the pin to line up with the hole. Since I removed the spring I have had no further problems, even when decaping military brass.

RCBS de-capping pin

I use the RCBS universal de-capping die and mine never came with a spring?
The only time I had a pin to break was when I was de-capping Military brass and it had some (not all) berdan primers and I didn't look before I tried to de-cap. So far mine works great!
Best to ya
