RCBS Hand Priming Tool internal parts realignment. How to?

Friends:

I have an RCBS Hand Priming Tool. It is the newer model that doesn't need a shell holder. It started not seating the small primers well. It used to work fine, but now they aren't going in all the way. I noticed the seating punch was not centered, so I removed the plastic feeding tube and inserted a cardboard shim, but this doesn't help. So I read the manual:
"....(CAUTION: Do not let the handle “fly” without the
safety gate in position, the tool will open too far and the internal parts will need
to be realigned. This is a safety feature so the tool cannot be used without the
safety gate in place)...."
I guess in my effort to fix the tool I let the handle open all the way and disaligned the internal parts. The manual of course does not say how to realign them. (How thoughtless is that??)

So how do I realign everything?

Thanks amigos,

my guess is if you go thru the procedure in the manual for changing the primer seating pin that should get everything back in line...

Thanks Bill, that didn't help. I think the cause might not be this tool, rather something stupid that I did: The RCBS neck/deprimer die was not ejecting some of the primers, so they would get stuck halfway out and jammed in the shell plate holder. I took the die apart and screwed the deprime pin outward so it would deprime better. The primers now all went out, but the head of the deprime pin might have deformed the primer pocket preventing good seating of the primer... Live and learn.

Primers not ejecting

The RCBS neck/deprimer die was not ejecting some of the primers, so they would get stuck halfway out and jammed in the shell plate holder.

I was having a similar problem and decided that the diameter of the RCBS de-capping pin was just right to stick in the hole in the primer anvil and than the primer wouldn't fall free. I switched to another brand universal de-capping die with a smaller diameter pin and the problem disappeared. - nhk
