I sent in the rebate when I bought the Chargemaster in December. I have not seen a check yet.

Vern,

That's just the wait. I have had a remington rebate in since november, it will eventually show up. Same with RCBS, Hornady, etc. I guess they sit on the money long enough that the interest pays for the rebate and they are actually out nothing. I will say one thing for RCBS, they do have a very good warrenty and customer service. They have always sent me repair/missing parts for free and just the other day, my 15 year old electronic scale went out. They are replacing it for 45.00, all I had to do was send them the old one so I have 55.00 dollars into a new 200.00 dollar scale. Can't really complain as the scale quit while being used like a basketball.

Vern,

I just learned to look at it this way.

It's like finding a 20.00 dollar bill in your winter coat when you put in on for the first time in the fall. It's your money but it makes you smile doesn't it.

I think I have only had one rebate that never showed up and that may have been because of the mail lady....but that's another story.

That was apparently not under this rebate since this rebate only covers purchases made after Jan 1 , 2012. The rebate form says allow 6 to 8 weeks for delivery so I assume you have called the 866-269-5194 phone number to check on it , what is the reason they gave you for the delay?

Dick,
My rebate was for one that had to be purchased before 12-31-2011.
6-8 weeks would have been the end of Feb first of March.
Thanks for the number. I called they said it was set to go out the 2nd week in April.
That's a far cry from the 6-8 week period.
The lady on the phone didnt give any reason for the delay.

I have had any number of rebates that showed up only after I followed through with a phone call. Most of these companies bank on a high percentage of the rebates never being sent in. I am also convinced many think if they don't hear from you you have probably forgotten it. I make a regular habit of calling them , frequently I do not even wait the specified time. I wait a month or so and call and ask to confirm they got the rebate papers. I also keep copies of all the rebate papers clipped to my refrigerator and throw them away only when I get the check. I have only ever lost out on one rebate and that was more than made up for by Comp USA sending me my $100 twice. I once received a rebate directly from a Staples store manager after she had me get the vendor on the phone and get me jerked around by the vendor then she came on line and asked me to hang up. I was very impressed with Staples at the time and really wish I could have listened in on the conversation she had with vendor.

Dick,
More in the past than now, Im sure you can remember there used to be a lot more mail in rebates available. The ones that always irritated me the most were when you bought a product directly from the manufacturer and they wanted to use the mail in rebate routine. Now wait a minute they are the manufacturer and I am buying the product directly from them (example Dell used to do this). If I am buying the product from them why do I need to fill out a rebate and mail it back into them to receive a rebate they could have just given me when I ordered/bought the product to start with?
I am not talking about the RCBS deal, you buy from one company (reseller) and then get a rebate from the manufacturer.
Since those are not as popular as they used to be I guess people got tired of never seeing the money they should/could have saved right up front.
That is kind of like saying my product costs $500 but I am going to charge you $600 and keep your extra $100 for a few months so I can make some extra money off of the investment........
maybe Im wrong but then again.....

I will never buy anything with a rebate it is total B.S.

If they would like me to buy the product cut the price and don,t make me send for my money back .

They do not want your money bad enough to actually lower their price.
They do hope to entice people with a rebate to make the purchase. I would estimate in excess of 50% never submit the proper paperwork to get the rebate and as previously discussed I am guessing another high percentage never seem to bother to follow up so probably less than 25% who make the purchase get the rebate. But those of us who are willing to indulge in a little work to follow up eventually get a good deal.

I am probably not as busy a person as you, I have more time than money. I agree it would be nice if they just lowered the price but then people would still look for it to go on sale anyhow.

just one more strike....
the rebate covers inventory in stock at retailers......
so its either a rebate for the customer or one for the retailer...it make more sense to advertise a rebate to the customer......

Well I am happy to say I received my rebate check today, less than three weeks after I submitted the papers. This is probably faster than I have ever received a rebate, hats off to RCBS.
