I need some info on the RCBS 304 scale. Many of you know i like to do a little trading now and then and i have a fella offering me an RCBS 304 scale. Im not sure if this is something i would want for myself or not. Im sure these are great scales but are they user friendly, and also what would a nice one be worth? thanks Lee

RCBS 304 scale was one of the very best scales in it's day.
I had a good one until I took it out in the suv one time and damaged the knife edge with the vibration
using original packing.

Using quality check weights in testing that scale was excellent.
I find it difficult to replace these days.
The dial is great -works well.

If you have a problem and need any repairs - parts now - Good luck !

I had the 304 for about fifteen years until I purchased the RCBS 10-10 for more portability. In my mind, the 304 was and is the top of the line balance scale. It is very accurate and coupled with the easy to use large dial, and easy to read markers, the best scale I've ever used. The guy I sold it to for twice what I paid for it unfortunately won't sell it back. Don't blame him. If I ever have a chance to buy another one for a reasonable price, I won't hesitate. I paid fifty dollars for it used and traded it for 5000 CCI primers when primers were hard to get. I think $100 would be a very good price.
