I need a firing pin spring for a Rampro action that I'm finishing. Can anyone tell me how many coils were on the orginal firing pins. I don't know much about these actions, but this one is about the size of a XP-100. Thanks

Firing pin spring

why not get Rem Mod 7 spring, the 7 is the same as a XP,600,so it should work fine.

Nick: Thanks for the suggestion, but it's a little shorter than the M-7 even. I do plan on cutting a Remington spring down, and I was hoping to avoid some trial and error time.

Rampro FP Spring

It took me a few days before I was able to get to the back of my safe and get mine out. I have the STP (Silhuette Target Pistol) model which is the shortest one. The spring has 15 coils and has obviously been cut down from a longer spring. The spring is not as fully compressed in the cocked position as a Remington usually is, so you can probably use a few more coils. These need all the spring power you can get for reliable ignition. It is also a good idea to use Federal primers as some others have a harder cup. These are neat little actions. I paid 475.00 for mine brand new some years ago.
