If you are asking physically what the difference is.....The raised rifling in a ratchet or 5c (broughton brand) is not square or rectangular shaped but the trailing end transitions back down.
Take a look at shilen or broughtons web site....one of them would explain better than I.
Do they work? Several guys have have some real hummer barrels but I can't tell you for sure that it is just because they have canted lands.
