I want to replace the rings on my new (to me) Shul 150. What rings mounts style or size will fit the bases? (Such as, rings for a Anszhutz or _____ will work) Thanks

It is possible to modify Kelbly's/Davidson/etc rings to fit the European rimfire and airgun dovetails. There is a surprising amount of dimensional difference between the various manufacturers' dovetails so it is impossible to say what mods would be necessary for the rings to fit.

Typically for Anschutz dovetails you mill/file .045" off the bottom of Kelbly rings. This amount also worked for my Daystate but my Steyr needed a bit more.

According to my info BKL is out of business. I didn't care for their rings due to the incredibly sloppy fit of the 1" 'bore'. These rings badly deform the scope tube.

Arent the bases on the suhl 11m/m if so you can order 11m/m high or low Leupold rings. While we are talking rings could some one tell me the highest rings I could find and from who. thanks- hope this will help you. garrisone.

CRB:

You must have gotten a bad pair or two of BKL"s. I have them on four of my BR rifles and have absolutley no problems with them..

Just my experience..

Kelbly's has their 1" rings milled for 11mm dovetail in stock and ready to ship.
These are very nice rings and lite too. Any other ring for an 11mm dovetail will work as well. Anschutz rings are nice and about 1/3 the cost of the Kelbly's. If you are worried about weight get the Kelbly's, they weigh about 1.6 oz for the pair.

I suggest all you people defending the BKL's should go measure your scope tube. It will be oval, ie flattened by the rings. BKL claims the rings are 'designed' to conform to the scope. The problem is the rings have a much larger wall thickness than the scope body. The result is the scope body conforms to the rings which are not round, they are oval.

Try lapping in a set of BKL's. The lapping arbor flops around in the "bore" of the rings. Compare the bore of any quality ring to the bore of the BKL's. The bore of a quality ring will be machined to 1" plus or minus a couple of thou.

Ya got'a lap em . . .

Fred Sinclair told me years ago that you only have to lap the saddles. But: With the BKLs ya got'a lap both the bottom and the top half of the rings. In my experience, they work will: If you lap them to 50 to 70% contact, top and bottom.

I think recommending or bashing BKL rings may be a moot point as they don't appear to be in business anymore. Folks who have ordered have never received. I know I had trouble.

For anyone who crushes the tube on a scope, you need to read the article in the latest Rifleman about farmer tight scope rings.

I have lapped 2 sets of my own and two sets for different buddies and have had no problems for 3 years I have had them weaver scopes only show very lite ring wear.

I need to order several sets of rimfire rings for our local gun show. Most will be used on CZs. Now that BKL is out of business, I am looking for another company that makes bases that will accommodate a 3/8" & 11mm base.

Most of the other rings I have looked up, indicate they fit the 3/8" rails.
The Beeman rings that Burtona has recommended claim to fit 9.5 to 11.5mm rails. They sell for $36.99 from Midway.

I am considering the Warne rings sold by Brownells, priced at $29.99.

The two clamping screws on the Beeman rings may be needed for centerfire, but the one screw on the Warne should be OK for rimfires: Right?

Has anyone here tried the Warne rings, or better still, anyone tried both Warne and Beeman? Both seem to be a better design than the BKLs, as they do not distort the bottom saddles as the BKLs do when tightened.

Use Burris Signature Airgun rings

I have used Burris Signature airgun rings on several different rifles with great success. I have a pair mounted on the Suhl I'm currently not using. LOL The real benefit of these rings is the different thickness plastic inserts, that you have to buy separately. These inserts let you adjust for any misalignment between the receiver and scope. In addition, if you run out of elevation you can change out the insert to get your scope back on target. AL

I have BKL's on both of my Suhls and they work fine..

Someone please answer this question. Arent Suhl rifle rails on top of the receiver 11m/m. If so the Leupold 11m/m rings will work-end of question. garrisone.
