Question regarding bedding a rimfire

I will be building a stock for a rimfire for league BR. The barrel is a straight .120 24" long, very heavy. I am considering bedding the first 2 inches of the barrel as well to help carry the weight. Thoughts?

Did you build the ramp to single shot control round feed? IF not, how did you get around the fixed extractor?

Yes, it just slides the round into the bolt as it moves forward and into the fixed extractor. It was actually a lot easier to get to work than I thought, maybe I got lucky, but I got it to work with my first prototype out of wood. I took it to a machinist friend who first made a copy out of aluminum and that worked so he made one out of steel. I have cycled a lot of rounds through it with no failures so fingers crossed.

What advantage does a fixed extractor have over a spring loaded one?
One reason, I am not sure if it is "the" reason they went this way is that the barrel does not need to be indexed to the extractor. So a barrel nut can to used to control rim spacing and or head spacing. Here is the tenon print for Rimx action. 1732714889026.png

In light of the fact that virtually all custom BR builds use an established headspace, unlikely that’s needed.
You didn't ask but likely you’d be farther ahead buying a nice used BR gun or BR Annie.

No in my opinion it doesn't either but the PRS crowd seems to like it. I did not buy a prefit barrel but had my smith mount my barrel solidly. I dabble in PRS or more accurately seniors PRS which my club occasionally runs, it is PRS style off of the bench or very easy props, this is the reason I bought what I did. I have entered a few BR events with this rifle and did quite well, thus my interest in the BR side but cannot afford another rifle and so am building a stock for this one and see where it goes.
