Question for WS2 - Danzac users

In the past before I starting coating my bullets I always ran a patch coated with Lock-Ease ( graphited lock fluid )down the barrel after cleaning instead of a lightly oiled patch. This was done on the advice of my smith. The first shot fired as a fouling shot was normally very close to the remainder of the group ,and not out in left field somewhere. I don't shoot point blank B R , but do shoot in the local groundhog matches where the name of the game is score and not group so I'm not concerned with a small group.
What is the method of choice for you WS2 users after cleaning ? I'm thinking that since the bullets will be coated with a very slick coating that the lube part of cleaning is not necessary. Am I wrong in thinking this , and should I still lube the barrel after cleaning and before the first shot ?

i just run a patch with kroil on it & then 1 dry patch, workd good enough for me but i still like to fire a fouler before i go to the score target in groundhog shoots,in br i foul on the sighter where it doesn't matter

Thats a tuff one John.....Iv tried about evry combo out there....with and without WS 2....it is very difficult to get a rifle to do what you/we want it to do....my best advice for groundhog matches etc....is DONT clean during the event....WS 2 allows most cals...unless larger capacity mags....to shoot aprox 50 rounds without loosing match accuracy.....just my .02 $...Roger

John, the original instructions I had for using t-d recommended, after cleaning with Kroil and J-Bs, running a patch that had been soaked in alcohol and coated with t-d. It seemed to work fine for me. Now, though, during a normal match with my 30 BR, I no longer clean until the end.

I have also been advised to mix a little bit of my danzac in alcohol so i can use this mixture on a patch or two to prime the barrel before shooting. Works well! Lee

Are you saying that JB's necsarry for cleaning each time you clean? I have Kroil and JB , just don't like to use JB all the time.

Lee is that every time you clean or before starting to use WS2 ?

Yes everyone I ask lots of questions , cause the only dumb question is the one you don't ask.

John, there have been lots of discussions on the board about barrel cleaning and especially using J-Bs. Everyone has to come to their own decision on how/when/what to clean their barrels with and I make no specific recommendations. I, personally, use Kroil and J-Bs every time I clean but I use a small amount of J-Bs and rub it into a patch. It works great for me, your mileage may vary.

When using the alcohol/t-d patch, it should be done after every cleaning, before firing.

Reed , thats what I thought , thank you for your reply . John
