Hey all,

I had it in my mind that Chet had a few excellent shooting Anschutz rifles that still had the factory barrel which he lapped himself.?

Is this correct or do I have my wires crossed?

Thought that I read that he mostly used lapped custom barrels, at least for his 250x25x;

I probably talked to Chet 2-3 times a week the last year or so before he passed away and I don't think he did any factory barrels. He believed strongly that the 8 groovers were at a disatvantage in wind. An interesting side note was that he generally pressed his match barrels into the 54 series actions. He was of the opinion that the Germans were perfectly capable of threading but that somehow, it was likely to distort the chamber which he tested extensivly with deltronic . He preffered the 54's actions over all others.
He had some pretty strong opinions as to bore dimension, taper, configuration, and chamber. Did every single gun with the same reamer which he said was magic and would never leave his hand. Don't know what became of it.
