Hi

Sorry if this was asked before, but my search dont worked.

For some hobby rifle work on 14X40 lathe, what will be a good QCTP wedge type who isnt as expensive.

Aloris seems fine, but above my budget.

Thanks

Get a Phase II wedge, when they are on sale at Enco. They are an Aloris copy and the toolholder interchange. You can get a complete starter setup for less than just an Aloris toolpost.

Thanks guys

I ended up buying one BXA model from CDCO. As it will be used only for weekends gunsmith work, I believe that he will fulfill the mission

Thanks again

Liseo,
It doesn't matter unless you take your tool holder and use it again looking for the same measurement. I wouldn't worry about it at all.

replace the set screws that are in the CDCO tool holders with some quality ones. The ones that they come with are junk.

eddief and stool speaketh the truth forsooth...... good black or even Grade 8 screws make a world of difference, calling the screws that come with the units "junk" is being charitable.
