I contacted the Yogi Bear campground between New Market and Luray. They have full hookups available for the weekend. Their bath house is not open yet. Phone number is :
540-743-4002.
It is about 15 minutes from the range.

Piney Hill/PSL information

Don: I think that Yogi Bear campground is actually on the east side of Luray, more towards the base of the Blue Ridge and Skyline Drive. It's probably not more than 20 minutes away from the range.

The closest actual address for the chicken house is that of the Piney Hill B & B, which is directly across the road from the indoor range. That address is 1048 Piney Hill Road, Luray, VA 22835. They're a very high end B&B and probably wouldn't appreciate being associated with a chicken house and indoor range, but they picked the neighborhood. It's very rural.

Directions to Piney Hill BR
Piney Hill Benchrest in Luray Virginia is about a 2 hour drive from Washington D.C., 2 1/2 hours from Richmond VA, 4 hours from Norfolk/VA Beach VA.

From I-66: Take the US-340/US 522 exit, exit number 6 towards Front Royal/Winchester, keeping left at the fork in the ramp. Turn left onto US 340 South, go approx. 27 miles to Luray. Once in Luray, at the intersection of 340 and 211 Business (this is the intersection at the stop light at 340 and Main Street). Continue straight onto 340 Business (towards Stanley) and travel 3.2 miles to Mill Creek Crossroads and make a right; (the road is right beside a business -- J Rex Burners) go 1.7 miles to the stop sign at Mill Creek Road, continue straight through the stop sign and go up about 1/2 of a mile and make a left onto Piney Hill Road. The entrance to Piney Hill is one mile up on the left at the top of the hill, just past Piney Hill Bed and Breakfast on the right.

From I-81: Take the New Market/Timberville/Luray exit, exit number 264. At the bottom of the ramp make a right if you were traveling North on I-81 or a left if you were traveling South, go up to the second stop light and make a left on US-11, go up to the next stop light and make a right onto US-211, (you are basically following the signs to Luray) travel up and over the mountain approximately 12 miles, when you come to the stop light on 211 (Exxon will be on your right, Wal-Mart and McDonald's on left) continue through the light. Shortly, you will merge off to the right onto 211 Business and then make the first right onto RT. 616 which is Leaksville Road. Stay on this road 4.2 miles and make a left at Mill Creek Crossroads. Go 1 mile and make a right onto Piney Hill Road. The entrance to Piney Hill BR is approximately 1 mile up on the left, just past Piney Hill Bed and Breakfast on the right.

Directions from Warrenton: Driving west from Warrenton on Highway 211, proceed over the mountain toward Luray. This is about 8 miles from the top of Skyline Drive. Take the US 340 Business S ramp towards Luray. Turn left onto US 340 BR SOUTH at the bottom of the ramp. Go up to the stop light, continue straight on 340 S BR and travel 3.2 miles to Mill Creek Crossroads; RT 633 and make a right (the road is right beside the business; J Rex Burners), go 1.7 miles, over the railroad tracks and to the stop sign, continue through the stop sign and go up about 1/2 of a mile and make a left onto Piney Hill Road. The entrance to the driveway is exactly one mile up on the right, just past Piney Hill Bed and Breakfast on the right. There are two large chicken houses on the property, the one set up higher is where the match is being held. Please try not to block the entrance to the first building, as a gentleman uses it for storage frequently.

There are several others close by in New Market and some decent restaurants. Luray is a vacation town and has many places to get a good meal.

I hope this is helpful and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone next weekend. Inez
