A few of you have seen Julia shoot her 30BR (she now has 3 of them) and wonder how she can take the punishment of shooting it free recoil. Well, her secret is in the link below.

Before discovering this, the recoil hurt her so badly that she almost hated the gun. Some of you may remember seeing her at Mainville, PA a couple years ago all purple and crying (true story).

She has been using one of these for about two years now and won't shoot without it. If we go to the range to practice and she forgets to put it on, she will quit after the first shot.

Get one of these for all your ladies. After all, shooting is supposed to be enjoyable.

She is wearing it in this picture, you'll notice, it isn't visible.

Thanks for that. :)

Now I just have to find out how to get one in Australia

BTW MEN................ these work for us too.

I keep a couple PAST recoil reducers in my shooting area and you'd be amazed the look of relief I get when I talk some burly hero into giving themselves a break.

They're awesome.

(I encounter some resistance when they first try the bra on but they all agree it's worth it in the end.....:D )

Al,

Try something apart from black lace next time. Looks gross with grey chest hairs sticking thru.

I've used that gel elbow pad & it works fine with big kickers.

Thanks for posting this

I am taking a female friend on a prairie dog expedition over the July 4th weekend. This will help.

OK, this is probably a stupid newbie question, but has anyone tried putting a Pachmayr Decelerator or Kick EZ shotgun recoil pad on the heavier recoiling rifles?

Of course, do it all'atime......on hunting rifles and rifles which have a high enough weight limit. For 100-200yd competition rifles there are reasons not to do it, often a comp gun has an aluminum plate or even a painted fiberglass cap to save weight. When making weight on a 10, 10.5 or 13lb rifle it often comes down to ounces...... in this case any weight you can take off the rifle and strap to your body is good! :) I have two 10lb Hunter Guns with Decelerators and a 600yd gun with a really squishy rubber something or other on it.

Al in a bra with recoil pad, negligee, and soft music on the firing line.
Something is wrong here.

My firing line has 8 speakers plumbed in on 10' centers with subs mounted in the ceiling. The microphone overrides the stereo system which gener'ly DOES NOT play "soft music" :D

When adjusted correctly the speakers tend to balance or compensate for the guys using muzzle brakes....... get enough preload and the backblast is unnoticeable!

Ah, very good Al. I appreciate it!

If you go to the Match Results Forum below and look at the recent NBRSA 600 Yard Nationals results you will see that Steven Jones won the heavygun class. On the westcoast any time you went to a match Steve was there installing "Dead Mules" a very efficient recoil reducer in stocks.
The biggest problem with the squishy pads on the butt is that they tend to collect alot more debris.

Your right! I should have said the gel type squishy pads that Alinwa gives a vague refference too.If you set the hard rubber pads in a rack at the range nothing sticks to the surface. On those real squishy gel type butt pads they are like a debris magnet and everything tends to stick to them.

When sighting in a rifle with a heavy recoil, I learned to use one of my sand bags between the rifle and my shoulder. I use one that might weigh about 5 lbs. and is maybe 3 1/2" by 6 or 7". It is like giving the rifle more weight and it distributes it over a wider area. It is quite an instant relief. Just try sighting in a .375 H & H both ways and see what you think.
