Please keep Darin Wurzer's wife Monica, his kids, and the rest of his family in your prayers. Darin was tragically killed in a traffic accident yesterday in northeast Iowa.

Please also pray for all his many friends and fellow competitors, and especially his close friends, Mike Spurgeon, Dennis Myron and Lee Pecinovski, who almost always came to the Iowa 1000 yard matches with Darin. I know they also shot at the Minnesota 1000 yard club, the Varmint Hunter Jamboree and probably elsewhere.

Darin is a long time customer of mine who has become a dear friend over the years, and my heart is very heavy right now. Our matches just won't be the same without him!

What sad news, Darin will be missed greatly, the cigar, the tuff competitor and a good friend to shoot and chat with. My prayers go out to all who have been touched by this tragic loss.

God bless all,may He lighten the burden and ease the transition.

Services for Darin will be held on Monday, June 23rd, at 10:00am at the United Methodist Church, West Union, IA.
Visitation will be on Sunday, June 22nd, at Burnham Wood Funeral Home in West Union.

The shooting community in Northeast Iowa has lost a great, unselfish and tireless supporter of the shooting sports. In addition to the 1,000 yd competitions that he loved, Darin also found time to coach the newly formed South Winneshiek High School Trap Team for two years, be a 4-H rifle instructor and also the Chairman of the Northeast Iowa Friends of the NRA Committee. He was also an avid sporting clays and trap competitor.

Darin will be sorely missed by those of us who were fortunate enough to call him a great friend.

Mike Spurgeon
