Practice Range

I want to set up a practice range to use with my bench gun. Should it be North/South or East/West?

i doubt you want to shoot into the sun...
will you use the range all day long ??

I live in Arcadia, Florida. My present range is shooting north to south because it was convenient. I am in the process of building a new one shooting south to north which will be a bunch better. The sun is the issue. My present range has the sun in your eyes and makes seeing target difficult, also I get some awful mirage in the afternoon. So if you can shoot south to north which has been mentioned already in this thread.

I agree with shooting north. My range faces east and you cannot shoot early in the day because the sun glare.

I believe that is why they change sides at halve time.

Hard to come by without selective home buying.
Too much conflicting hot air out of the bay area and lost angeles.

We get some relief from the warm air comming up from san diego.

Range layout

Safety should be of prime concern first....... then choose direction. If no roads/homes/buildings or people near ..... shoot to the north......
