ppc .308 bolt face

i had a ppc on a .308 bolt face once,rifle never shot well.
i know a guy who has a ppc on a .308 bolt face and it shoots well.
so i was wondering what the deal is on a 6ppc barrel on a unalterated .308 bolt face?
as long as it will extract the case? should be ok?
 
well im running a new haverkamp action,sako type extractor. i have some ppc cases and it seems like it will pick em up and excrtact them.
waiting on some barrels to come in, going to be 6BR barrels, but i was thinking while it was at the smith's i might have him spin a 6ppc
LV barrel on there while he has it.rather than have to send it back at another time. just thinking and wondering about it.
