powder for 6PPC

Hi guys

I want to experiment with some other powders for the 6PPC. We here in Namibia/South Africa uses Somchem powder, and we all use S335, which is quite similar to vihta N133.

Some other faster burning powders we have (all somchem) are S321, similar to 4198 & N201, and S341, similar to 4895 & N203

The S335 slots in between the above 2, with S321 slightly faster burning, and S341, slightly slower than S335. The difference thoug is that the S321 and S341 are ball powder, and the S335 is a flake powder.

I want to try these 2 powders. Do you guys use 4198 and 4895 for the 6PPC, and just some general info would be appreciated.

Many thanks

4895 is generally a little slow for a 6PPC. 4198 is quite fast, so you would want to work up your load slowly in small increments. A full case of 4198 would be way too hot.

I believe Jerry Sharret did some testing with 4895 in his improved 6PPC and may chime in.
