Is anyone out there loading Hodgdon H-322 or Benchmark in their 6mm/PPC's? I'm from the old .222 class and still load IMR 4198 in the 6PPC. Good Powder, but just does not come close to filling the case. Someone told me that Benchmark was sensitive to temperature. Any truth in that? I use the Berger 64 gr. column bullet too. I'd appreciate your thought's.

Thanks,

Jim

The new extreme H 4198 works very very well in the ppc.
you just have to watch for pressure signs in hot weather. whats the big deal about filling up the case?
a good load is a good load. we are looking for accuracy and consistency right?

Gerry - I am of the understanding that the fuller the case, the less air in the case, and that equals accuracy. If I'm wrong, let me know.

powder choices

I can't see any difference.
when I shoot in the winter league I use H 4198 and it shoots better then my LT 32
Both are great powders both loads that i use have some air space in the case.

I haven't done a lot of shooting the past year or so. I do have to say that after 6,500 rds the year before that that i can have some ideas
that are working for me.
Here,s what i've been doing 28.2 gr LT 32 in the ppc with standard components Ie Lapua case fed primer neck turned brass
25 to 26 grs of H 4198 extreme powder jumping the bullets about .015 Both shoot dots if I do my part
you can go hotter on the H 4198 in cold weather 40 degrees or so.
Now this depends on your particular chamber Mine are cut with a Boyer 3 reamer 262 nk 1 deg 30 min leed .035 throat
