I shoot a 6.5X47L with 130 grain Bergers. My current load is 39.5 grains of H4350. Does good. I would like to try some IMR 4895 for this cartridge. Could someone give me an equivilant charge for the 4895. The 39.5 4350 is a little warm, so I will of course back off charge and proceed with caution.

Thanks,

Your cartridge a 6.5 x 47 Lapua? If so the load you give above in a 26" barrel, according to QuickLOAD, produces 2760 fps at 53,126 psi. Using 35.1 grains IMR4895, produces 2778 fps at 53,343 psi.

NOTE THAT THIS IS ALL THEORETICAL....NOT TESTED...USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Your IMR4350 load calculates to be 105% load density (compressed). The IMR4895 load above calculates to be 92% load density....SO..you could easily produce a dangerous overload with the IMR4895.
