Polishing Question

A little of the gun topic but here we go. What is the best way to polish steel and plastic. The pinewood derby is coming up and I need to get the axles and inside of the plastic wheel polished. I purchased some Braso polish for the axles but now I'm second guesing my self. As for polishing plastic I don't have a clue. I know I'm dork as the wife has already told me that. Thanks
 
Those cars' and the little people who run them will make you laugh. If the race was over! I would tell you to go to the kid whose car truly looks' like crap, and he made himself. That will be the winner, and he can't tell you how he did it
