I purchased a CZ452 varmint as my first rimfire rifle 2 weeks ago and before I even shot it, I noticed the end of the stock is closer to the left side of the barrel and though I could fit a thin piece of paper between the barrel and the stock up to the barrel lug, there is noticeably more space on the right side of the barrel inlet space... after spending many hours at the range, it has become very clear that there is POI issues... many times the first shot will be 1"away from my point of aim, and though I have shot a few 1/2 groups (most have been 3/4 to an 1"), I notice to many fliers that messed up some possible great groups... The gun has potential IMHO but seeing how I had to removed the stock already (was planning on floating barrel up to the barrel lug, and epoxying it (or using a spacer around that portion of it) and bedding action... I was also thinking of NOT using a stock and instead using a concept as seen in this picture:

What if I had a machinist fabricate a clamp that was applied to the barrel portion next to the receiver end, with a tubular "stock" that allowed for something similar to the pic above to allowed me to benchrest the gun? If it were not for the inconsistency with the POI changes, I would have been more than happy to leave the gun 100% stock but am interested in what could be done with this gun.
Also, what is the best, most reliable after market trigger unit for the CZ452? It must be safe above all.
