Please explain, sleeve.

I guess improved precision is the big advantage but is it always the case or only when your lucky?
Is there any other reasons to sleeve your rifle? What would the sleeve itself cost and who makes them?

Sleeves

Sleeves are used when you want to strengthen an action and also to add more bedding bearing surface. At one time they were the standard on BR guns. We were using xp100 actions, 40x actions or the occassional 700 Remingtom action. I seldom see them used now in fact I've never seen a sleeve installed on a custom action.
