Muzzlebrake Deflectors
Thanks Alinwa
These two pictures were in response to the muzzlebrake thread on heavyguns.
The deflector in the first picture has staight up stacks but at a match diesel truck tips are added that face forward. The center post is 4 inch diameter steel and has a rod for adjusting its height and tightening it.
In the second picture Ann is shooting a 50 bmg prone without any dust concerns. Her load is 248 grains of VV20N29 and a 800 gr borerider bullet. The muzzlebrake is solid titanium in both pictures.Ann as can be seen is not a large woman and the recoil and concussion are not a problem for her.
You can make the deflectors out of PVC pipe very cheaply to fit any bench. They don't work on a 50 bmg but will hold up well for the small calibers we shoot at 1,000 yards like the 338 Lapua.
