This is a reminder that a 100 yard IBS Score Match will be held Saturday, May 31 at the Pine Tree Rifle Club in Johnstown, NY. The pre-registration request was to get an idea of potential match attendance. Anyone who hasn't pre-registered WILL NOT be turned away. The match director's (John Del Savio) email address has been corrected on the PTRC website (jads@citlink.net). For more info about the match click on http://www.frontiernet.net/~pinetreerifle/centerfire2014/cfire2014.html. We hope to see you there.

I hope you can get as many shooters there as possible for the first registered IBS match. It is both a historic and beautiful range that has been greatly upgraded.

I fondly remember shooting next to Clyde Hart at Johnstown in the late 1970s. I was very new to the game and lucked into a pretty decent group-once. I was on "Cloud 9" when Clyde congratulated me on my group. I also recall just before the range officer went into the final instructions for every match....he said, "start the backer Hugh". Hugh, apparently was one of the range workers and he turned the motor on (I assume, I never really asked!).

Jeff, Thanks for the plug! We at the PTRC are excited about the IBS return to the birth place of modern benchrest competition. We are much looking forward to the 31st and will not turn away any shooter who shows for this event. By the way "Hugh start the motor." was the command that was give to Hugh Johnson who at that moment would start the moveing backer. Hugh passed away many years ago, and I knew him well. I went to school with his children and my high school buddy married Hugh's daughter. Funny how little things form the past like Hugh Start the motor remains with us through time.

Hope that many IBS shooters make this match as it is a historical event and a group photo will be taken as they were in the past at the PTRC matches, only difference is that this time it will appear in the book that is about to be published about the history iof the Pine tree Rifle Club.

May all your shots find their intended mark, John Del Savio Match Director PTRC
