just to pass this on, bought a 4.5-14x pentax pioneer from AE brown for $199 to go on the cz custom. bought a second and put it on a cz lux, the glass can only be described as outstanding. have several sightron, weaver in both rifle/pistol and variable and fixed. the pentax is out of sight.

sorry about that, E. Arthur brown company, if you are looking for a scope for your sporter the glass on these is spectacular.

they say 17oz for the 4.5-14x the parallax is 50yards to infinity. on the 3-9x there is no ao and the parallax is set at 100 yards. the reticle is thick for 2/3 then thin the remainder. the 3-9 shows a different reticle, looks like a mil-dot.

Pentax riflescopes are made by Burris

Indeed all of the Pentax scopes are made by Burris. I don't know the Burris equivalent to the "Pioneer", but I'm glad you like it. :)

For example, the Pentax 'LS30' (aka Lightseeker 30) is a fraternal twin to the excellent Burris Black Diamond.
