Pellet Selection

Do they sell .22 caliber pellets based on diameter? In the past I was able to buy .177 cal pellets in different OD's, and I was wondering if I could do the same with .22 cal pellets. I have come over to the dark side, breaking down and buying a Steyr LG 110 hunting rifle this past week.

I'm having alot of fun with this new adventure and want to start learning all the tricks for accuracy.

Also, is there a " best place " to purchase pellets where they have a variety of lots to test from?

Thanks.

Your best bet in your area is Airguns of AZ, in Gilbert,AZ. I do not know How far that is from Vegas being I am on the other side of the Mississippi. I do not remember reading or seeing anything listed dia. wise for .22 pellets. Over on the yellow forum someone might have done some research along those lines. Likely have to do a search to see if anything comes up. Like rimfire though what works today might not on the next lot. I had a good lot in .177, ran out, new lot ain't makin it. back to the drawing board.

Steve,

Pyramyd Air also sells a wide selection of pellets. They do have different diameters available in .177 and .22 cal for Air Arms, H&N and JSB.. and fourth tin is free. I also buy from Bori at TopGun Airguns, and AirGuns of AZ. Tim at MacI also sells the Cometa version of JSB.. and JSB and Crosman.

Steve, the Steyr's in particular seem to benefit, when I got my LP10 I tried 3 different sizes. Currently Neil Step @ISS sels both RWS and H&N from 4.48mm-4.51mm and he's in Fort Worth.

Tim,

My Steyr is a .22 cal, and so far the JSB's seem to be the ticket. I ordered some more in 5.52 and 5.53 mm. Hope to test them soon. The rifle shots some excellent groups indoors at 30 yards, but I'm still getting my feet wet with this rifle. Still a ways to go.

For my 9003, I have some good luck with Vogels and some older R-10 pellets.

Thanks for your input..
