Thurmont Conservation Club in Thurmont MD. is holding a 300/200/100yd Groundhog match August 24th.
It will utilize Rod Morton's Peeping Groundhog @100yd target. I have just listed full details in the "Match info & results" forum.

There will be an additional cash prize of $ 500.00 dollars donated by I.A. Shooter to be awarded to the person who has the highest score if he beats George Rill's 2010 record of 150 points and wins the match. The targets allow for a maximum of 180 points.

It is now one week to the match, from the reports I am getting it is going to be well attended. Calling for beautiful weather if you think you can believe the weather guessers 8 days in advance.

Looks like a beautiful day

Looks like beautiful weather high of 80 and mostly sunny is the forecast. We will be shooting 300yd first which will help if mirage rears it's ugly head later in the day.
Come on out it looks like we have a real gang of shooters coming, cost is only $12 per rifle with 50% payback to shooters.

Roy Hunter wins Big at Thurmont

Roy Hunter with his 6-PPC beat George Rills old record by 6 points at the Groundhog match at Thurmont Md. Today. Roy took home a cash award of $625.00 thanks to the $500 donated by I.A. Shooter. Roy graciously passed 2nd place money on down to 3rd place or he would have won $75 more.
We had 50 guns in custom class and 4 in Factory class. Steve Duke won the Factory class.
