I am interested in what you guys use for cutting threads and if anyone has seen a difference in rifle accuracy cutting with partial or full profile threading carbide inserts.
Full profile threads are stronger because there is always no crest interferance do to a unknown thread dia. The tool would not be offered if application was not needed. The problem with bad finish, tool is used in CNC with speeds that are hard to do on std machinery, wrong grade insert, wrong application angles and finish cut, wrong lub or solvent, chip control, shallow feed cuts tend to work harden the part being threaded causing chatter. Just keep in mind with full profile inserts each one will only cut the T.P.I that is listed on insert. Good luck!!I am interested in what you guys use for cutting threads and if anyone has seen a difference in rifle accuracy cutting with partial or full profile threading carbide inserts.
