What is the preferred paint for fiberglass, and does it require a special

Sherwin Williams Polane T is the paint that's used for the textured finishes for hunting stocks. That's what McMillan uses for their painted hunting stocks. Most of the benchrest stocks that you see that are painted use some form of automotive paint. Acrylic lacquer used to be used a lot because it was easy to apply, but I don't think it's even available anymore. Just about any of your different automotive paints will work. Learning to apply them passed me by awhile back, especially after I sent a stock that I had painted to Kavanaugh when he was stock painting to be repainted and when it came back it weighed 4 ounces less than what it did when I sent it.
