Package shipped to Mongolia.

Can any one help me and explain to me how it is possible why a package of 4000 Bart bullets with the right address label on it was shipped by USPS, from San Francisco airport, to Mongolia (??????) instead of to The Netherlands?
Me is told that, how ever the value is $1200, USPS, if they are going to pay, only will refund $650.
Thanks.

United States Postal Service -- That was the first mistake. Then it was shipped "out of country" . . . mistake number two. To two places where they don't speak English as a first language . . . three strikes and you're in Mongolia.

They need to ship you your bullets. If they lost them, you need to be compensated for the true cost of the loss, retail price and shipping.

If you paid for 1200.00 worth of insurance, and you can prove the value of the package content was 1200.00, then they have to stand the 1200.00.

If they (USPS) know where your package went, why can't they get it and send it to the right location? It seems strange that the Customs in Mongolia would let it through their system. Something does not sound right. I'd ask USPS and Mongolian Customs for an explanation.

When you fill out the export label to send a package international you should always check the box that says return to sender in the advent that something goes wrong.
The only way the package went to Mongolia was because the bar code on the label had a problem with it.If it got wrinkled, written on,mutilated, wet, torn, taped over, stapled, crushed or a host of other problems happened to it the bar code reader read what was left and sent it on its way.You have to remember that most people don't read english in Mongoia so the barcode and a clear well written label that is legible is a must.
On the insurance if it was insured for $1200 you get $1200.I suspect that the international labels value box was marked $650 not $1200 and they are offering the lower value.

Monoglia????

Sounds also like the shipping company has a rat in their freight forwarding division..... Someone slipping lables over original package shipping lables to divert hi-value packages. This might not be the only package to reach such ends. Their security should be contacted, if you can.
Someone could have thought it was jewelry.
Good luck.

UPS has a bad habit of mis-deliveries in my parts. If it was not for hard working, honest neighbors that get some of my deliverys I would be missing them.
I have noticed on the UPS web site there are no phone numbers or email complaint numbers in which to contact them.

USPS delivery is also as good as the local postman. If you have a mailbox out on a post, in the country mail thieves can get you.... Then a $400 heavy duty lock mail box is the way to go. Problem is once in a while you might be slipped a copperhead or rattler to contend with by kids with nothing else to do.. Graduation time for the high schools is particuarly bad for distruction to the mail box..... off track now.
Good luck.

Thanks.

Thank you guys for your input, it's well appreciated.
Hope it will work out for me at the end.
Thanks.

A man walks up to the ticket counter and asks for a ticket to San Francisco, and says he has 2 bags to check in and wants one to go to Denver and one to go to Miami. The ticket counter lady says, "Sir, we can't do that for you." and the man replies, "Why not ? You did that last time I flew with you."
