Optimim Loads

I have a couple of Remingtons that I'm working up loads for. As a guideline I'm using a writeup by a guy named Lee Euber. He talks about starting with the bullet touching the lands and charging the powder in increments. Then he varies bullet seating depth. It's an involved process and I'm ok with it and looking forward to the testing. My question is about the seating depth. The article says to increment the seating depth in specific increments. One of the bullets I'm testing with is the Berger 55. Everything I've read says that Bergers are not happy being jumped and will perform better touching or jambed into the lands. Is there a reason to go through this process with these bullets. I see no need to use upomponents needlessly just to verify something that has already been established. If there's a change that the Bergers may find a sweet spot back away from the lands, I'll try it, but I'm just wondring what you guys have experienced..
