good shoot

I think that the conditions that we had to shoot in were the hardest that I have seen at Open Grove and Fred and Jim Drury shot great scores. Thanks Joe for having another great shoot.

Congrat's on the win Fred. After seeing you shoot in LA. I know that a little wind isn't going to bother your game.

Congratulations Fred on pulling off another fine win, and with Jim sitting there right on your heals you sure had to buckle down. I think this may be the first time I can remember of where you've posted about having switchy and gusty conditions like that, which makes it all the tougher to do well, that's for sure.
Good shooting to all, and it sounds like Tammy's food was well appreciated as well.

Dave, It's usually the norm here with the switch and the wind can vary, being close to the ocean. Just ask Fred how much switch he shot in while he was here. I would rather shoot with a 15 to 25mph wind that was somewhat consistent then shoot in a 8 to 15 mph constant switch but as you know it's the same for everyone on that given day and each range has it's quirks. It is what it is.

With all the fuss last year, we usually do not post our scores anymore, and since I've stepped back from competing, we feel it's a good thing when someone from out of State showing up, that it's nice for them to receive that pat on the back (per say) they deserve by fellow shooters. Our second match of the year we had Dan Killough, Fred Leeds, Bill Zaborowski, and Travis Shaw all from different states and I did not post the results. I'm sorry i didn't, it was another tough day for all of them.

Fred is one heck of a shooter and getting better. It's a real pleasure having him here.

Take Care,
Joe

A Fun Day At The Grove

Joe, thanks for putting on another great shoot!! The burritos were wonderful, Thanks to Tim and Tammy. Next time it will be your responsibility Joe, to either get the wind to settle down or at least blow consistently from the same direction. It was great to see all the guys and Thanks for the hospitality. Hope to see you all August 4th. Fred Leeds
