? on Model 70 type safety

Deer season is over and I'd like to put a M 70 type safety on a rebarreled Mauser 98 rifle I have.
Brownells sells several kits, are any brands better than the others?
How hard is it figure out where to machine the firing pin?

Thank You
Hal

Do you want the two or the three position ones. I can do either but the three position ones run a bit higher and need to be fitted.

Thanks for the offer but I was going to try to do this myself.
It should be a good project.

For a 98 action the Timney-Buehler style low safety is very easy to install, looks good and is easy to use. Page 109 in Brownell's #61 catalog. Part #883-804-089AB.

It is not the 70 style however...

If you are going to do the two position one, I would have to say the Wisner is far and above the others in quality and workability. They are the only ones I use now. As for the three position ones, stay away from the Gentry or the Dakota. Go with the Lapour.

As for the buehler type of safety, the two and three position ones are far superior as safeties go. The lever comes up too close to the scope and when wearing gloves in cold country, it is difficult to operate them.
