Older Weaver CT-24 Scope

I have a chance to buy a Weaver CT 24 scope with fine cross hair at a good price (200.00) , this must be an older version as it does not have the lock ring on the AO and has gold Weaver logo on it. its in great condition. Does anyone have experience with these older CT-24's ? Do they track and hold POI well? Thanks in advance.

The problem with the older Weaver and, in fact, any Weaver is that no one works on them and they no longer are under warrantee. A guy had one for sale at Harrison was trying to sell one and the priced as the warrantee was brought up.

How lucky do you feel?
Scopes have o rings, gaskets, and often internal lubrication, none of which get better with a lot of years under their belt. Throw in zero service capability......odds don't favor smiles.

There is a company that does work on older weavers, Optical Services Company in Santa Teresa,New Mexico.
Cheryl is great to deal with and their service turn around is quick. She will not work on the new weavers (XR Series) and in particular the XR-46. Her dad Bill Ackerman used to be an engineer when Weaver was in ElPaso, TX.

Thanks for the replies everyone, the scope is very much like the CT 24 thats still available, it just doesnt have the locking AO ring, this one is made in Japan. I do know they arent covered under warranty anymore.
