older sako p-75 info?

Hello, I recently saw a sporter Sako p-75 in .22hornet.
My Dad used to have a sako 78 in .22H.
I've heard of a few other sako but never a p-75.
I have the later 75V in .222 but this p-75 .22H is an older action.
My "blue book" doesn't have the p-75 in it.
Can anyone tell me anything about it?

Sako P75

Had a Sako P75 22Hornet for a while and I wish I could think of something nice to say about it, but I can't. Mine had a couple of annoying problems, one was that I could not get it to shoot reliably. One day it would shoot good groups and next day if the moon was in a different phase, my groups were all over the paper. The other thing that worried me about that rifle was the magazine release, it always seemed poorly designed to me and I used to worry about loosing the magazine. Traded the Sako on a Cz in 17HMR and just about got my money back on what I paid for the Sako. I love the 17, it's everything I hoped the Sako would be but never was. Most Hornets are somewhat finnicky but I have had a few good ones and that Sako was downright impossible. I think Hornets are good for an experienced handloader who is after a challenge, otherwise most folks would be miles better off with a 221 Fireball or a 17HMR. Hope you have more success with yours than I had with mine. Murphy.

Sako hornet

I have a Sako 75 and have the same issues with the mag release. Tried a lot of 22 "hornet" bullets and like the Vmax 40 gr best. Lilgun powder with Fed primers. One inch groups are the best I expect from this gun.
