Old benchrest rifle

I have acquired an older unlimited bench gun. It has what I think are Weaver bases on the gun. What scope would have been used back then. What brand? What power? What rings? It is in caliber 240 Donaldson Wasp. I want to try and keep it vintage if I can. I am gonna shoot it.

Without pics or more data it’s tough, based on limited info, could very well be weaver rings with a Leupold 24 or Lyman 20 up top.
Would this be a Mauser action or something sleeved ?

The gun has a substantial straight grain walnut stock. Forend is 4.5 wide. Butt is 2.5 wide and parallel to the forend. Barrell is 6 groove. Cut rifling. Its 1.25 by 28. The action is a Schultz & Larson. Don't know how to post a picture.

Shultz and Larson's date back to the 50's. Unrtels were widely used back then. A 15x or 20x Ultra Varmint would fit the gun well. Unertl Programmers were popular too, but came a little later. By the 60's, Lymans gained a ton of ground in BR.
