Ohaus Repair Service

Well, finally talked to a supervisor at Ohaus. Apparently there's not much they can do for me now. I wish I had listened to my inner voice and just kept the scale as it was usable at weights above 10 grn. The scale returned from Ohaus had damage to the LCD, metal platter and load cell . It will not report accurately at 200 grn as it did before. It's now toast. This may have occurred during return shipping. I suspect that whoever packed it for the return trip was not as scrupulous as I was because they considered the scale non-repairable. They may not have bothered to think it might still be usable.

So I guess I'll order the HCB 123 now.

I recommend that anyone sending a scale to Ohaus for repair note the serial number and/or place an indelible identification on the unit. Take pictures before and after packing for shipping. Nagging doubt that I got mine back, due to the type of damage, but no proof.
