off center primer strike

Hi

What can be done to the rifle who has this problem? This mean the action have one problem or just the bolt/firing pin or both? Will a blue printing work correct this?
The rifle shoot decently, but this detail bothers me. I wonder if it could shoot better if centered...this rifle is for competition at 300 yards.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

This could have nothing to do with the bolt, and everything to do with how well centered, and aligned the action threads(that the barrel screws into) are. Give us more details about the rifle, any modifications, how it is used, loaded for, and what kind of accuracy you are currently seeing.

Liseo,
The bolt can be bushed front and rear and then the bushings turned down with the lathe center set into the firing pin hole. The rear of the lugs would probably need to be faced if you do this and it might not hurt to face the bolt face. This will change the headspace so the barrel will need to be turned in slightly and the headspace reset. I normally indicate a bolt in front and rear on the bolt body and don't worry about whether the firing pin hole is centered in the bolt nose. Most Remington firing pin holes are fairly close to being on center, but occasionally you wind up with one that is pretty far out of center. I haven't seen that it makes much difference in how well the rifle shoots. A good bedding job will make more difference. Check and make sure that there is no more than .002" of movement between the barrel and forend when the front guard screw is loosened. If there is more movement than that, then it needs to be rebedded.

The easiest thing might be to get a Pacific Tool & Gauge bolt. For what it costs to bush a bolt front and rear, you can just about pay for a new Pacific bolt body. However, since you are in Brazil, you may or may not be able to do that.
