I am building a F-Class rifle using this action in MB configuration. The gun will be a 284 with a 1:8.5 twist barrel shooting the Berger 180 gr VLD bullets. We (the gunsmith and I) chose this action to help with the torque of the bullet upon the action. His opinion was this octagon shape will allow the action/stock fit to better handle the torque.
