The Salem Pistol and Rifle Club will be hosting the Tom Miller Memorial NY State and Northeast Reg. IR50/50 Yards Championships on Sat., 6/19 and the Meters Championships on Sun, 6/20. The Range will be open for practice Fri. afternoon, registration and bench drawing will begin at 7:30am on Sat. and Sun.. Shooting will begin at 9am both days. We'll be serving a bbq lunch with salads both days and cold water and soda will be available free of charge. Everyone is invited to my house for dinner after the match on Saturday. Please let me know if you plan to attend, and which days you'll be here so I can plan the meals.

There are two motels in Cambridge, 11 miles south of the range. The Peace Be Still Motel can be reached at 518-677-5524, and the Blue Willow Motel's # is 518-677-3552. There are numerous B&B's in the area, too. If you would like to camp at the range, we can supply power and bathrooms.

The TMM match has always been one of the best attended matches in the Northeast. Last year we had two World Records shot in brutal high heat and humidity. Let's hope for more records and less oppressive conditions this year!!

Are beginer/novices welcome? I'd love to come and try my hand, but I don't want to crowd the bench for the real shooters.

Hi Todd,

Penny and I are looking forward to seeing all our "Yorker" friends. We are planing to shoot both days.

Penny has been practicing!!!

Jeff, I can't speak for Todd, but I'm sure you would be welcome. You will meet a bunch of nice guys and gals.

Jeff,

I'm sure you will be welcomed. Come on down, if Todd says anything remind him that I'm bigger than him, better looking, and shoot better too!
Don't worry about the real shooters, have you never heard of beginners luck? Look forward to meeting you.

Ken Henderson

I'll be there for both days. Jeff -- come on out and enjoy the match. I'm smaller than Ken, but much smarter!

Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Michael

Well, it sounds like it will be OK. I guess if trouble starts I can stand behind several of you and be safe...assuming you'll all be armed with single shot .22's, what could go wrong? I might have to work Saturday, maybe I could come in the afternoon and introduce myself, then maybe shoot on Sunday if I pass muster.

Thanks for the welcome!

Todd,
I will see how I do driving to Michael's shoot this Sat. If it goes well I plan on shooting both days at the Tom Miller. Will bring some Doggy treats to bribe the scorers!
Jeff, if you need any equipment ? I will bring what you need.

Paul

Jeff, You couldn't pick a better environment to get your feet wet in. You'll be able to check out all of the equipment and get to try some of it, too. You'll get all the free advice you could ever want from some of the best shooters in the NorthEast, and Ken, too:p As you can tell from the banter going on in this thread, this is a fun crowd! We've got every level of shooter, from 1st year shooters to Gold Level Hall of Famers and World Record holders. If you do have to work, definitely stop by Sat. afternoon. And if you don't have to work, we'll have bench for you!

Al and Penny, looking forward to getting my butt whipped by you both. I've been practicing too, but it ain't helping! I'm hoping the ammo fairy shows up here tomorrow ....

Paul, I sure hope you can make it! We missed you last year!

Michael, I'll see you at Easthampton on Sat.

Todd

Sorry Todd, but I'll have to pass on this years Tom Miller. I sent my scope out today to be reworked as it seems that's been the root of my problems all along, and I'm not going to try to compete with a list of Who's Who in Shooting while using a 6X scope.

Dave

Dave, I've got a 36X Sightron sitting here doing nothing. If you can make the trip to Salem, we can set you up to sight in inside the clubhouse while folks are getting set up outdoors.
Todd

It sounds like a fun shoot, but it's the same weekend as our 45th wedding anniversary and we've made plans to be at Bar Harbor/Acadia that weekend.

I shot with Tom Miller a few times and he even let my friend shoot his rifle at a Pinnacle Mt. match. He was a great guy and we're pleased that a match is held in his name.

John

Todd,
I`ll be there and I bet you would bring the Sightron to Easthampton and Mike would give Dave a chance to sight in this Saturday!!
Then Dave you`d have a week to get ready for the State and Regional match besides shooting Saturday!!
Pete

Sorry Pete, but I won't be making the trip out to Michael's this weekend as it's my granddaughter's 6th birthday on Saturday so I had to prioritise, and, as always, she won out.

Dave

Todd,
Looks like I will be shooting both days. What do you plan to do to one up Michael's
Bob Cat, Fawn, Mother Doe??
Paul

Paul, Glad to hear you can make both days. As far as coming up with a better show than Mother Nature put on at Easthampton, I don't know....we have a woodchuck that lives on the berm, maybe he'll put in an appearance?

Todd
Going to try to make it for fri afternoon practice.
Did you say woodchuck?
I like Woodchuck!

I hope some southern boys show up to explain to you Yankees that that is not a woodchuck...8>)

Paul, that cat looks a little smaller than the one we saw at Easthampton! Fred and/or Pete will be at the range from early afternoon on, and I'll be there around 5-5:30, earlier if we're at a good stopping point at work. Food is all set, canopies are up, I think we're ready!
