The Salem Pistol and Rifle Club hosted the NY State and Northeast Regional Unlimited Yards and Meters Championships this past weekend. Wilbur and Elmer have already posted the complete results on the IR50/50 site (less than 8 hrs after receiving them!) so I'll keep this short.

The conditions were tough. Hot, humid and very switchy winds going from 0-15mph instantly at times. Steve Brookhouse took both NY State titles while Dan Gibeault took the NE Regional Yards Championship and Al Hadfield won the NE Regional Meters match.

Many thanks to everyone for coming out to shoot, and to those who couldn't make the match this year because it was Fathers Day weekend, we missed you! Thanks also to Pete Roberson and Fred Blanck for all their help setting up for the match last week and cleaning up yesterday.

Penny and I would like to thank everyone that made our visit to Salem so enjoyable. Todd for such a well run match. Pete and Fred for all their hard work. The guys that cooked our lunches. Kathy for her help and hospitality. Todd again for showing us how to make crispy critter burgers!

Also Michale for remembering which screw to turn on Penny's Jewell trigger. (She had been plagued by slam-fires). And Paul for cooking b-fast Sunday morning ;) . Last but not least my gunsmith, Gordon Eck, for fix'n up my ol' gun.

So there! Hope I didn't miss anyone... Oh, and the whole crew of shooters, what a pleasant bunch of guys.

Todd,

Let me add to Al's comment about the hospitality you and Kathy gave the group. I really enjoyed the after match get together at your home. That's one of the highlights of the match. Conditions were a little tricky, the Salem swirl was in full effect. It's also good to see and shoot with friends we don't get to see often enough. Looking forward to next year already.

Todd,
Thanks for a Great weekend of shooting! Steve and Cindy for the Fri. night supper. Pete and Fred for all the range work and the club members that cooked the lunches. Todd, Kathy, Bear and Max for the Sat night cookout and entertainment. Didn't know flames could get so big on a gas grill.

Paul, You're exaggerating. The flames weren't quite that high! Maybe about half that:eek:
