NWA TRRC TRIAD OBR RESULTS

We had a beautiful sunny day for our Last TRIAD of the 2014 Season.
11 Shooters (10 PCP and 1 Springer) ventured out on 09/13/2014 for the TRRC TRIAD OBR (Three Distance Outdoor Bench Rest) Match.
The weather presented really cool air (39 degrees at 6AM) and later was sunny and beautiful 83 degree skies @ 2PM and NO Washington State Liquid Sunshine at all.
Caesar came by, for a while, and I had the privilege to see his new Air Arms FTP900, but personal business kept him from making his debut.
He will be joining us soon.
We appreciate the "Edible Goodies" brought by Harvey and they were so good that no one ever realized he also had Cold Water in the cooler!
A requirement, added to the entry fee for today's match, was the donation of a Air Gun Related Item to be given away as a "Door Prize."
Everyone participated and Every One was a Winner. Prize choices ranged from a Pellet Dispenser to a variety of Pellets to CR2023 Batteries and there was even a 30mm Scope mount.
Winds from everywhere, making wind flags do 360s as always, sets the challenge of deciphering how much adjustment and when to move the Point of Aim a constantly changing game here at TRRC!
As you know we use ONLY .177 caliber pellets and under 20FLB Rifles or Pistols and very seldom use Plugs for any scoring here in the PNW.
We do have a couple of folks that would like to shoot their .22s BUT....
Some folks think they will get "Stomped" and "Left Behind" but..........
check the space between John Calhoun (3d) and Terry Cooke (4th)..... 610/09X vs 610/07X - 390/02X vs 390/01X - 80/00X vs 80/01X for a GT of 1080/11X vs 1080/09X!! Talk about NEXT BENCH pressure!!!!
Our Matches are a three distance variety match, hence the title TRIAD. The course of fire is 64 Shots at 50 Feet, then 64 Shots at 25 Yards AND THEN the final target of 20 Shots is at 50 Yards.
All targets are a larger single circle with a 1/16" smaller circle in the center as the "X" and scoring is Go or No Go with "X" count as a tie breaker. Shoot 100% inside the outer circle an receive 10 points. Cut the line and you get nothing!!
You must "Obliterate" the center circle at 50 feet and 25 yards, but only need to "Clip" the small center circle at 50 yards for an "X".
That gives us a possibility of four winners, one at each…..50 feet/25 yards/50 yards/Match Winner. Of course only the Match Winner will get the Majic Pellet Trophy.

Todays Results were:
Match Winner - JD Dodge (1220/05x)
At 50 Feet - John Calhoun (619/09x)
At 25 Yards - JD Dodge (500/01x)
At 50 Yards - Dave Brown (120/02x)

Outdoor Scores aren't like the ones achieved Indoors but always FUN!
1. JD Dodge - 600/03x - 500/01x - 120/01x = 1220/05x
2. Mark Burns - 580/05x - 490/05x - 40/00x = 1110/10x
3. John Calhoun - 610/09x - 390/02x - 80/00x = 1080/11x
4. Terry Cooke - 610/07x - 390/01x - 80/01x = 1080/09x
5. Dave Brown - 510/07x - 440/03x - 120/02x = 1070/12x
6. Tom Dangelo - 450/04x - 490/00x - 70/01x = 1010/05x
7. John Mickle - 490/04x - 310/01x - 70/00x = 870/05x
8. Bill Quick - 500/04x - 360/03x - 0/00x = 860/07x
9. Harvey Gertson - 460/03x - 320/01x - 50/00x = 830/04x (#1 Springer)
10. Brian MacDonald - 380/04x - 370/00x - 70/01x = 820/04x
11. Sue Vogel - 100/00x - 70/00x - 20/0x = 190/00x

Terry Cooke assisted me in the scoring of all targets and "Double Checked" all of the Scores. Thanks, Terry.
Sue and Carole Brown used the KODAK and took all of the pictures today and did an excellent job. Carole has become our new photographer in the group and Sue has moved from "In Training" to become a shooter.
She is "Hard Core" and shot her new HATSAN AT44-10, she just got Yesterday, with NO pellet identification, solid ZERO or Trigger Time!!

Afterwards, Terry Cooke, Dave and Carole Brown, Harvey, Mark, Sue (my Sweetie) and I adjourned to Happy Teriyaki for Rice and Fish Eyes.

There is NEVER a Bad Day Shooting!!!
