NWA TRRC TRIAD OBR RESULTS
https://www.flickr.com/photos/9253708@N03/sets/72157645220317222/
Once again we had a beautiful day for our Third TRIAD of the season..
9 Shooters ventured out on 06/14/2014 to TRRC for the TRIAD OBR (Three Distance Outdoor Bench Rest) Match.
The weather presented cool air (in the shade) and sunny and beautiful 54 degree skies (out from under the cover) and NO Washington State Liquid Sunshine at all.
Winds were making wind flags swing all directions, as always, and made the challenge of deciphering how much adjustment and when to move the Point of Aim a constant changing game!
As you know we use ONLY .177 caliber pellets and under 20FLB Rifles or Pistols and use ONLY .177 Plugs for all scoring here in the PNW.
We do have a couple of folks that would like to shoot their .22s at the 50yard distance and if we have enough contestants we will plug all holes to .22 for even scoring. So far, Mark is the only one to use a .22 at 50 yards and even though he won the match, his 50 yard score was not the highest. Marks score could have been higher at the 25 yard distance but somehow there was a complete line with NO HOLES IN IT!!
I don't think I'll sell any more guns to friends. Dave beat me and JC had more "X"s than I did, but was a few "10"s short of also beating me.
Steve took away the title of "Mr. Springer" from Harvey.
Our Matches are a three distance variety match, hence the title TRIAD. The course of fire is 64 Shots at 50 Feet, then 64 Shots at 25 Yards AND THEN the final target of 20 Shots is at 50 Yards. All targets are a larger single circle with a 1/16" smaller circle in the center as the "X" and scoring is Go or No Go with "X" count as a tie breaker. Shoot 100% inside the outer circle an receive 10 points. Cut the line and you get nothing!! Changed from "Obliterate" to "Clip" the small center circle for an "X".
That gives us a possibility of four winners, one at each…..50 feet/25 yards/50 yards/Match Winner. Of course only the Match Winner get the Majic Pellet Trophy.
Todays Results were:
Match Winner - Mark Burns (1220/99x)
At 50 Feet - Mark Burns (610/55x)
At 25 Yards - Mark Burns (540/42x)
At 50 Yards - John Mickel (130/00x)
Outdoor Scores aren't like the ones achieved Indoors but always FUN!
1. Mark Burns/TM1000 - 610/55x - 540/42x - 70/02x = 1220/99x
2. Dave Brown/EV2 - 570/43x - 520/29x - 90/01x = 1180/73x
3. JD Dodge/EV2 - 530/42x - 500/24x - 120/01x = 1150/67x
4. John Calhoun/EV2 - 550/52x - 470/26x - 80/00x = 1100/78x
5. Steve Parks/HW100 - 530/45x - 410/20x - 120/01x = 1060/66x
6. Terry Cooke/TM1000 - 560/48x - 460/19x - 30/00x = 10500/67x
7. Harvey Gertson/FWB150 - 540/37x - 410/20x - 50/01x = 1000/58x
8. John Mickle/400S - 330/21x - 380/17x - 130/00x = 840/38x
9. Ted Miles/200S - 420/27x - 220/10x - 100/01x = 740/38x
Sue used my NIKON and took all of the pictures today and did an excellent job. I think we have a new photographer in the group although she is "In Training" to become a shooter, as well.
Afterwards John Mickle, Terry Cooke, Dave and Carole Brown, Ted Miles, Susan (my Sweetie) and I adjourned to the local Mexican Restaurant. Come on "Iced Cream"......................
There is NEVER a Bad Day Shooting!!!
