Once again we had a full "Sell-Out" with all of our twelve shooting positions filled on 08/09/2014 at the TRRC TRIAD OBR (Three Distance Outdoor Bench Rest) Match.
The weather was..... cool air but sunny and beautiful 68 degree skies and NO Washington State Liquid Sunshine at all.
Winds from everywhere make the wind flags do 360s and always makes the challenge of deciphering how much adjustment and when to move the Point of Aim makes the match a constantly changing game! Wind Gusts, measured at Harvey's Bench, were recorded with his machine at 13.9 MPH!! The only worse day was a few years back when we had to stop the match to stand targets back up that the wind had blown over down at the 50 Yard Point!
John Calhoun was the Match Winner in April and made it back to the podium again today with a 1200/11x for the win.
Sue Vogel (my sweetie) and our "Newest Photographer" has moved into the realm of competition today and made her debut with a Fifth Place with a CZ 200 borrowed from John Mickel.
Bad luck faced Kay at the start and "Gun Problems" gave her a DNF at the 50 foot distance.
With Sue and Kay........that's two ladies that we must contend with now!!
Tom Dangelo, another new shooter to our family showed upin the middle of the pack also. New Blood has moved in folks!!
As you know we use ONLY .177 caliber pellets and under 20FLB Rifles or Pistols and use ONLY .177 Plugs for all scoring here in the PNW. Our Matches are a three distance variety match, hence the title TRIAD. The course of fire is 64 Shots at 50 Feet, then 64 Shots at 25 Yards AND THEN the final target of 20 Shots is at 50 Yards. All targets are a larger single circle with a 1/16" smaller circle in the center as the "X" and scoring is Go or No Go with "X" count as a tie breaker. Shoot 100% inside the outer circle an receive 10 points. Cut the line and you get nothing!! To get an "X", you must obliterate the small center circle at 50 feet and 25 yards, but you only need to break the small circle at 50 yards for that "X".

That gives us a possibility of six winners,
one at each…..Match/50 feet/25 yards/50 yards/PCP and Springer.
We even recognize the person that finishes last............
We recognize EVERYONE!!!!!!
The Majic Pellet Award is only presented to the Match Winner, but all others are recognized.
