NWA TRRC TRIAD OBR RESULTS

Once again the Washington "Liquid Sunshine" that was drenching during most of the week and ESPECIALLY Friday moved out overnight and we had a beautiful sunny day for our second TRIAD of the season..
10 Shooters ventured out on 05/10/2014 to TRRC for the TRIAD OBR (Three Distance Outdoor Bench Rest) Match.
The weather presented cool air (in the shade) and sunny and beautiful 54 degree skies (out from under the cover) and NO Washington State Liquid Sunshine at all.
We expected to see Caesar with his new AA MPR-FT, but personal business kept him from his debut. He will be joining us soon.
Harvey was scheduled to shoot and got attacked by the Flu Bug at the last minute. We appreciate that Harvey decided NOT to share with us!
Winds from everywhere making wind flags do 360s always makes the challenge of deciphering how much adjustment and when to move the Point of Aim made the match a constant changing game!
As you know we use ONLY .177 caliber pellets and under 20FLB Rifles or Pistols and use ONLY .177 Plugs for all scoring here in the PNW.
We do have a couple of folks that would like to shoot their .22s at the 50yard distance and if we have enough contestants we will plug all holes to .22 for even scoring. Our Matches are a three distance variety match, hence the title TRIAD. The course of fire is 64 Shots at 50 Feet, then 64 Shots at 25 Yards AND THEN the final target of 20 Shots is at 50 Yards. All targets are a larger single circle with a 1/16" smaller circle in the center as the "X" and scoring is Go or No Go with "X" count as a tie breaker. Shoot 100% inside the outer circle an receive 10 points. Cut the line and you get nothing!! Changed from "Obliterate" to "Clip" the small center circle for an "X".
That gives us a possibility of four winners, one at each…..50 feet/25 yards/50 yards/Match Winner. Of course only the Match Winner get the Majic Pellet Trophy.

Todays Results were:
Match Winner - JD Dodge (1270/71x)
At 50 Feet - John Calhoun (560/53x)
At 25 Yards - JD Dodge (570/24x)
At 50 Yards - JD Dodge (150/01x)

Outdoor Scores aren't like the ones achieved Indoors but always FUN!
1. JD Dodge - 550/46x - 570/24x - 150/01x = 1270/71x
2. John Calhoun - 560/53x - 450/21x - 120/01x = 1130/75x
3. Mark Burns - 530/44x - 470/34x - 70/01x = 1070/79x
4. George Sharrett - 490/40x - 500/28x - 0/01x = 990/69x
5. Dave Brown - 470/35x - 410/20x - 70/01x = 950/56x
6. John Mickle - 500/27x - 370/18x - 70/00x = 940/45x
7. Terry Cooke - 470/44x - 340/15x - 70/02x = 880/61x
8. Ted Miles - 440/32x - 350/17x - 60/00x = 850/49x
9. Steve Parks - 430/34x - 350/19x - 50/01x = 830/54x
10. Bill Quick - 410/31x - 190/08x - 80/01x = 680/40x

Sue used my NIKON and took all of the pictures today and did an excellent job. I think we have a new photographer in the group although she is "In Training" to become a shooter, as well.

Afterwards John Mickle, Terry Cooke, Dave and Carole Brown, Ted Miles, Susan (my Sweetie) and I adjourned to Red Robin.

There is NEVER a Bad Day Shooting!!!

Sue,
Great pictures, but next time could you please take an up-close of the target to help give us all a better image of the size/set-up. We love seeing the guns as well as other shooters, so keep 'em comin'.

JD,
Congratulations on your win(s). You sure were dominate on Saturday, that is other than for at 50 feet. There I must congratulate Mr.Calhoun for helping to keep your head from swelling too much. John shot quite the score, 560, and X-count, 53 out of 64 shots, that's for sure.

And Red Robin was a good choice to help round the day out.
