Another Great Day of Air Gunning was attended by seven shooters and lots of "Pellet Talk", as always, took place at the TRIAD Bench Rest - Rifle Match on Saturday, the 10th of August.
The wind was relatively calm with bright skies for sight-In and the temperature was in the low 80's. The Usual Early Conditions.
Harvey had his new "Weather Station" (see pic) to provide us with the skinny on the conditions, as last month, but he hasn't worked out the Barometric Formula yet..... He might be waiting to use that program when we move indoors in October.
Yes, that is correct......September, Next Month, will be the LAST TRRC TRIAD Bench Rest Outdoor match for 2013.
Harvey provides us with all of the modern technology although he still shoots a springer that he has had since he was three years old. But...............he consistently wins with it, so that's all that counts.
The new targets with the "GO-NO GO" System have made a big hit and have become the "Standard" for NWA.
They are Simple to shoot AND REALLY Simple to Score.
Typically it takes @ 30 minutes for two scorers to mark all 148 targets!!
As you may recall, Dave's EV2 went south last month and he had to switch guns in the middle of the match.
Well the EV2 ...........really "Went South"........... on a trip to Joe Koricks shop in Vancouver for repair and Dave is back in business.
Dave's "Sweetie" Carole stopped by and brought us homemade brownies with walnuts (after my pushiness) and had my sweetie, Dora, was along as co-pilot.
You will note the hot peppers...............I mentioned that I like "Spicy" things and Carole thought about me.
Dave's so lucky!!!!
Back to the TRIAD.....................................
Bob, fresh back from an African "Live Field Target" Hunting trip, was rocking through the 50' and 25Y distances but the wind wouldn't cooperate for him at the 50 yard distance and killed his chance for a win.
The TM1000s were successfully "Taking Over" last month with Mark as the Match Winner and Terry as First PCP Winner, BUT, Mark deserted Terry and a "Quiet Ringer" in our crowd jumped up and took the spotlight!!!
John Mickel ( whom has been shooting air guns since Lewis and Clark days) FINALLY stopped holding back and showed us how to do it via "OLD SCHOOL". Well sorta old school.........older shooter and ideas with new equipment.
John beat us all, TM1000 and EV2s, etc with...........................a CZ200. Yep, one of the best "Bangs for the Buck"!!!
In fact, the Air Arms 200s and CZ 200s have made such a great impact on the air gunning world I have established a Special 200 Class within next months TRIAD. To enter you MUST HAVE a PCP AA or CZ 200. A special Award will be given to the Class Winner. Stay Tuned.......................
