Another great 58 degree sunny day and another great Bench Rest Match here in the great state of Washington.
We had a full range of avid shooters on the 8th of June, 2013 and all were ready for the match to begin.
The new targets were well received and no one seemed to have anything negative with the simple GO/NO GO System.
Since there are three distances shot, each distance has its own target configuration. All targets have a number of
circles with a slightly smaller than pellet size circle in the center. 64 targets at 50 foot, 64 slightly larger targets at 25
Yards and 20 much larger targets at 50 yards. (See Pictures for sample)
Out of the 12 shooters today, finishing in the top four positions were either a TM 1000 or an AA EV2 rifle.
Mark Burns and his TM1000 won the match with JD only 3 shots behind him with his EV2 and was closely followed by
Terry Cooke and his TM1000 who was only 3 shots behind JD and Dave Browns EV2 brought in the fourth position.
On the Firing Line were 2 TM1000s, 2 AAEV2s, 2 FWB300s, 5 CZ200s, 1 ANS8002, 1 AA510 and 1 AA410.
Yea, I know that's 14 rifles and we only had 12 shooters..............................
At NWA TRRC matches, you are allowed to shoot different rifles for different distances as long as they all are .177
caliber and stay below 20 foot pounds of energy.
Mark Burns (ANS8002 & TM1000) and Bill Quick (FWB300/CZ200) changed guns during the match.
JD won the 50 Foot distance and Mark won the 25 Yard distance.
Brian has his CZ200 dialed in for the longer shots and beat everyone at the 50 Yard line.
Harvey ALMOST had a bud for the match in the "Springer Class", but Bill switched to the CZ.
For all practical scoring Harvey won the Springer Class, even though there wasn't one. Don't feel sorry for him being
dumped into the PCP Class with the rest of us, because if you look at some of the earlier matches HE HAS KICKED OUR
HINDENDS with that springer more than once.
Scopes were mostly Leapers and Bushnells followed or lead by 1 Center Point and 1 Falcon.
Match Results are:
Mark Burns - MW - 590/16X - 590/05X(W) - 80/00X = 1260/31X
JD Dodge - 1PCP - 620/13X(W) - 510/05X - 100/00X = 1230/18X
Terry Cooke - 2PCP - 590/10X - 530/04X - 80/00X = 1200/14X
Dave Brown - 3PCP - 350/05X - 560/03X - 90/02X = 1000/10X
Ted Miles - 510/04X - 420/01X - 30/00X = 960/05X
Brian MacDonald - 400/04X - 420/04X - 120/00X(W) = 940/08X
Harvey Gertson - 450/01X - 380/01X - 80/01X = 910/02X
John Mickel - 460/08X - 380/02X - 60/00X = 900/10X
Bob Gribble - 460/08X - 330/02X - 50/00X = 840/05X
John Calhoun - 370/06X - 320/02X - 60/00X = 750/08X
Kay Gribble - 310/04X - 330/01X - 70/00X = 710/05X
Bill Quick - 290/07X - 270/05X - 30/00X = 590/12X

EVERYONE did very well and it seemed the only "Constructive Critisism" came from John Calhoun.............
He felt the targets would be more manageable if they were made "Oval" instead of "Round Circles".
When brought up................. "if the pellet hits away from the oval then"......................
His response was .........."Well, Umm, Oh Yea........"..............
We adjourned to the Red Robin (Bobs request) and Kay received a "FREE" Burger incelebration of her (Classified)
Birthday!!
See ya'll next month.
Come and join in and have a fun day Airgunning.
