The first TRRC TRIAD for the 2013 Season is now History.
The weather was about the same as last Saturday........................
48 Degrees, RAIN, WIND gusting to 28MPH, OVERCAST, HAIL and VERY COOL Temperatures.....................
Note in one of the pictures John Calhouns HEATER and everyone trying to get flexibility back in their trigger fingers.
This was scheduled for all day, but like I said, It turned out like last Saturday............
It was raining and stopped with intermittent misting, sunny skies and it continued that way for the entire match.
And once the match was over the bottom fell out of the sky and we had Semi-Monsoon Rain!
But you didn't come here to hear my version of another weatherman that doesn't know what Washington State
weather is going to do from minute to minute.
We had 12 Shooters scheduled (which is capacity on the new range vs 8 before renovation) but Terry Cooke
dropped out to go up country to defend his high rating in Bullseye Air Pistol that he does elsewhere.
8 Shooters on TRRC Benches and 3 Shooters on their Private Benches made a great Firing Line.
10 PCPs ganged up on 1 Lone Springer. Harvey ( The Springer Man).
Ted Miles was a new Shooter that joined our ranks and did very well for his first time in competition.
Dave Brown was the only one to debut a new gun recently added to his arsenal, a Black Air Arms EV2.
Match Winner was JD with "X" count by edging Dave out the spot.
Everyone shot very well for the conditions and ALL had "PB"s........PERFECT BULLS....the type of shot that is in
the EXACT center of the Bull showing complete 9 ring around the hole!
I have started using the "PB" count (after "X" count) to become the "Tie Breaker" for all future matches.
"Shoot Offs" will no longer be required.
Results are:
JD Dodge - 247/13X-246/11X-220/01X-231/05X-349/00X = 1293/30X (20PB)
Dave Brown - 242/09X-237/07X-228/03X-224/05X-362/00X = 1293/24X (05PB)
Mark Burns - 248/19X-245/12X-232/09X-225/08X-322/00X = 1272/48X (05PB)
Bob Gribble - 238/08X-244/10X-220/07X-218/05X-324/00X = 1244/30X (06PB)
John Calhoun - 244/10X-240/12X-231/06X-230/04X-295/01X = 1240/33X (05PB)
Bill Quick - 240/05X-237/07X-218/05X-195/02X-324/00X = 1214/19X (02PB)
Harvey Gertson - 237/07X-238/10X-213/02X-205/01X-242/00X = 1135/20X (02PB)
Ted Miles - 219/04X-206/01X-165/01X-202/02X-262/00X = 1054/08X (02PB)
Kay Gribble - 242/08X-214/06X-203/04X-200/03X-159/00X = 1018/21X (05PB)
John Mickel - 238/07X-239/04X-214/02X-219/04X-DNF = 910/17X (06PB)
Brian MacDonald - 242/08X-228/04-191/00X-184/00X-DNF = 845/12X (02PB)
Harvey was the only Springer shooter and had to be placed in the PCP group.
Todays match educated those with less "Wind Flag" reading time that 50yards is a bear!
Windage and Elevation deciphering in 28MPH gusts and unpredictable winds can only be
overcome with more trigger time.
Brian and John M. sadly were not able to overcome the problems with their guns/ammo they
were using even WITH many years of trigger time!
"When you're Hot, your Hot.....When you're Not, you're Not!! But still another fun day!
During scoring we found SEVEN staples in the targets!!!!! Hard on the fingers folks!
Not too long ago we penalized one point for each staple.
Let's not be lax or we (scorers) will have to bring that program back.
Ted, John M., Bob, Kay, Dave, Harvey, Brian and I adjourned to Red Robin, had lunch and
scored targets.
