This Saturday, the 13th of October will be the next Monthly TRIAD
Bench Rest-Rifle Match at TRR.
This will be the LAST Outdoor Bench Rest Match at TRR for the 2012 Season.
We are moving indoors at CCR. Watch the Future Events section of the NWA-BR Web site
for information and mark your calendars.
The Winner of this months match will be presented with a Turkey (for Thanksgiving or
Christmas consumption??) and will get to carry the status of "Majic Pellet Monthly
Champion" through the winter.
Start time remains with Set-Up at 09:00, followed by the Safety Meeting at 09:45.
Range goes "HOT" and the first pellet goes down range at 10:00.
The three distances (TRIAD) remain in effect at 50F, 25M and 50Y.
We have a new 50 Yard Target that will be introduced at this match designed by Larry Duram.
It will be still two shots per bull but will be a GO/NO GO type target. 10 Points for a Hit
and NO Points for a Miss. The round MUST BE TOTALLY Inside the KZ for score.
There will be no "Kiss Shots".
Think "Field Target" where you score by hitting the KZ and you get NO SCORE if you don't.
Remember you may change rifles for different distances as long as it is used for
one set distance targets.
Preferred is .177 caliber, but .22 will be allowed if you only have that caliber.
We are still evaluating the "BEST" way to score both calibers. USABR plugs all
(.177, .20 and .22) with a .22 plug and we may convert to that system for all of our
future matches.
Let me know your input so I can massage the rules so we are all on the same
sheet of music.
Remember that ALL GUNS must produce LESS THAN 20 foot pounds of energy.
Next year we will periodically "CHRONO" to check. Next year we are also going to
educate everyone as to what is required at the BIGGER Matches, so you will be
prepared to participate, if desired.
But we will STILL have our advanced "FUN FACTOR" attitude in place and will not
become Anal about anything..
Check with your friends and get them to come join in the fun.
GAMOs and up are all welcome, but the "UP"s will have the advantage!

We survived another great day of Airgunning on October 12th at the TRR TRIAD.
The TRIAD Match consists of 50 shots at 50 Feet, another 50 shots at 25 Meters and finally yet
another 50 shots at 50 Yards for a grand total of 150 shots and GT Total maximum of 1500/150X.
Seven, all PCP, shooters came out today to enjoy the moderate winds, 60 degree air temperature and VERY
misty light rain, but not too bad to discourage us from challenging Mother Nature.
We really do need to pay homage to her because she has shed beautiful conditions 99% of the time.
The group consisted of our regular crew today with one of our regulars showing up just to score.
Thank you VERY much for scoring all of the targets Terry, you made my job much easier.
Terry Cooke kicked a lot of butt this month at the AAFTA Nationals in Grants Pass, OR with his new
TM1000 and I think he is still letting it "Cool Off"....
We started off the Match with the POKER Shoot at 50 feet. You know the drill, so I won't repeat myself.
John Calhoun won the Turkey with a Pair of Aces. Gad, that man is lucky!
With totally different weather you will notice the scores are down from usual, but really the scores are
considerably lower due to the new 50 Yard Target.
Larry Duram designed the target and most of us think it is great.
There are 25 1/2" diameter Solid Black Dots in place of the normal multi-ringed bullseye that we normally shoot.
We placed a value of 10 points for every shot completely inside that black dot. If not completely inside,
You Got Nothing...........NO Halves, NO quarters.............NADA!!!
We shot it twice, so there was a maximum available point total of 500 points.
Mark Burns bested us all .............. With a 90!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Easy?? Yea Right!!!

Here is what you have all been waiting for....................
Mark Burns was the Match Winner today and took top honors by shooting a 1024/24X.
Mark jumped way ahead with his 50 yard score and was the ONLY shooter to break 1000 today.
I think ( I KNOW) we must CHRONO that TM1000 next time........... ;)

Match results were:
MW - Mark Burns - 1024/24X
2d - JD Dodge - 996/35X
3d - Kay Gribble - 981/23X
4th - Jim Benson - 980/15X
5th - Bob Gribble - 954/10X
6th - John Calhoun - 942/11X
7th - John Mickel - 940/17X

Individual Distance results were:
50 FEET - JD,MB,JB,KG,JM,JC,BG
25 METERS - MB,JD,KG,JC,JB,BG,JM
50 YARDS - MB,KG,JB,BG,JD,JM,JC

Turkey Shoot results were:
JC - A,$,Q,J,3
BG - K,$,Q,8,6
KG - K,$,9,5,3
JM - Q,$,4,3,2
JD - 6,6,K,7,4
MB - K,J,9,6,4
JB - K,10,9,7,4

Everyone had a great time and most of us adjourned to the "Red Robin" for lunch.

Next Benchrest Match will be held at CCR on November 17th.
