Well Mother Nature had a bit of a Heat Flash today and we really missed the "Cold Shoulder today!
The temperature was in the 80's and maybe even 90's and us folks up here in the PNW don't do well under
those conditions.
BUT...................we had a blast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The "Core Crew" showed up today to enjoy a day in the sun at our Dedicated Pistol Range in Washington State
in view of Mount Rainier in all it's beauty.
As you see in the attached pictures (this time mostly movies) we shoot from inside a tent for our bench rest
activities and in front for our action pistol.
BTW, John made his debut today with his "New Toy", a IZH-46M!!! He has, for now, given up the Multi-Pump
CROSMAN 1377, and is in the transition period of whether to stay or go back.
JD with his ALFA and Jim with his 1701P were left behind again with their attempts to hold Ron back!
Dave was at a "BIT" of a handicap using an "Unfamiliar" gun..........he used my Custom CROSMAN 2240 PCP and
did exceptionally well at practice the day before, but I think he used up most of his good shots before the match.
Ron Price, our last months winner of the "Majic Pellet" held strong and has kept the Award for next month by
shooting a winning score of 692/21X out of a possible 720/72 with his Air Arms ALFA.
Since the Range is located on Ron's private property and he always shoots from the same bench and since
he provides the targets..................................I think we might have to keep a closer focused eye on him....
Just a little "Tounge in Cheek" humor that we pass back and forth from start to finish every day we are together.
A standard "Poker Shoot" follows the "Main Course" and John Calhoun won with a Pair of Aces. The winner receives
$5.00 of the entry Fee back and He has won more than anyone else since we started this game........hmmmmmm!
Now the range takes on a new look as the "Bowling Pin" Target System is set up.
Dave Brown built the system and shooting it is one of the most fun things you can do with your CO2 pistol.
I leaned more towards movies this time and have cropped down to the best representation of the action.
John was really "In the Zone" and kicked us all as he won the complete "Double Eliminator Match" on the pins!
Then the "BG/GG" Targets System (Bad Guy/Good Guy) was set up. We toyed with "Running Tombstone" and
other names but this one seemed to be the best. I modified the GAMO target system to operate with one of my old
R/C car servos and can now start and stop the action without having to walk to it.
Jim made the target pieces that replaced the original deer pieces.
Idea was the same as most "Shoot/No Shoot" situations at a moving target.
Each Shooter was given 30 seconds to knock down as many targets as possible. Preferably Good Guys ONLY
A Bad Guy (in shadow color) hit scores PLUS1 and a Good Guy (in bright color) hit scores a MINUS 2!!!
Ron beat us all with a +12, followed by John with +9, then JD with +4 and then Dave with a PLUS 1..............
and has been arrested for killing so many Good Guys.............
Great Fun in the Sun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We then were fed from the infamous R/J Kitchen and moved on to the scoring responsibilities.
Bench Rest Results were:
Ron Price - 692/21X - Match Winner
JD Dodge - 657/13X
Jim Benson - 652/11X
John Calhoun - 612/06X
Dave Brown - 566/05X
Ya'll missed another great time.........................
